We arrived to UCLA through the ER and were able to get in and then admitted to the hospital. As you can see by the time of this post it is late… We finally got a hospital room at 1:00 am in the morning. We sat from 3:00 pm till 1:00 am in the ER in a busy hallway waiting to get a room and for Alex to get the all important MRI DTI. We were given the results of the MRI DTI in the ER. Still tumor, surgery looks like it will be Thursday at this point.
Our room is very spacious, and we have a great nurse named John. John is very funny. He calls Alex “dude,” likes talking, and is all about taking good care of us. He is a blessing.
Tomorrow the plan has not been made clear. It seems it will be a low key day filled with hopefully lots of visitors (this helps us a lot), and meeting with doctors (which we were told would probably be in the morning).
I was encouraged today by reading 1 Chronicles 16: 8-36. This is David’s song of thanks. I found the whole prayer very refreshing and encouraging. Even though this whole experience has been scary and extremely difficult, we have really seen God work in amazing ways.

Much Love,

– Surgery to be successful, with at least 95% of the tumor being removed. Also that there would not be any stage 4 cells.
– Recovery from surgery would be successful with NO deficits.
– For peace that passes all understanding.
– Alex would come out of surgery well, and he would recover quickly.
